Description

1945 UL 74″ flathead Harley-Davidson engine parts. Cases, flywheels, cams, lifter blocks and tappets, oil pumps, cam cover and all the other stuff you see. I WILL ONLY SELL THE WHOLE LOT. The cases are in very nice condition. The flywheels true up, they came out of a panhead that someone had made a stroker by using the flathead flywheels. (stock stroke 4  9/32″).  There is a new set of Jim’s rods, special TRW forged pistons (1964-65 Corvair) that are good for a 5″ stroker motor, a nice cam cover, oil pumps both feed and return, and all the other stuff you see in the pictures.

The cylinders are new Flathead Power cylinders from Sweeden, not S&S. They are really nice cylinders, but they are soft. They are completely usable, as I have a stroker flathead with them on there, BUT they need to be treated. treatment can be heat treatment, cryogenic, or the way I went back in the day was to send them to a place called Bore Tech. Unfortunately they are out of business. The process they used impregnates silicon carbide particles into the surface of the complete cylinder bore. Silicon carbide impregnation process virtually eliminates bore wear and bore polish. Currently the only company I see this process done with is Laystall  in England.
