Description
1926 Pea Shooter 350cc flathead Harley-Davidson engine.
This is a real 1926 Model B engine. I came across it in the 1990’s. There are a lot of good parts here, but it is no where near running condition. The cases are good, the flywheels, shafts, bushings, bearings, connecting rod, cast iron piston are all there inside. The cylinder is cracked, the camshafts, valves and springs are missing. The generator and distributor are there and look pretty good. The carburetor is there, but rough.
When I saw what it would need to make it run I was disappointed and just cleaned everything up and made a display out of it. As an engine builder, I would say if someone was interested enough they could restore whats there and get it running again. Obviously it would take a lot, but I see there are people out there doing it. It makes a nice display if that’s your thing, and it is a very cool piece of history you just don’t find everyday. I mean it’s 99years old!
The engine spins over and is pretty clean on the inside. The piston is made from cast iron. The cam cover is also in good shape as well as I think the oil pump is okay. The ears of the carb flange are both broken. The float pin is missing, but the float and all is in there. The rest of the carburetor’s parts are also still there.
